SUMMER ACTIVITIES

Climbing

The Allgaeu is a paradise for rock climbers whether you are looking for single pitch crags or multi pitch mountain routes.  The emphasis is on minimum travelling time each day with the closest single pitch crag 10 minutes drive or a half hour walk away.  Just over 30 minutes drive into Austria and huge variety of multi pitch routes from grade 3 upwards.  You could spend a couple of days in the area while staying in a conveniently located mountain lodge.

Klettersteig

Klettersteig is an activity somewhere between hill walking and climbing.  Wearing a harness and helmet you travel along the high ridges clipped onto a steel hawser.  Its like climbing but without too many technical bits to learn.  In the area there are two of the most popular Klettersteig routes in the Tirol.  The first being a day trip along the Hindelang Klettersteig and secondly the Mindleheimer Klettersteig which is ideally a 2 day trip with a night in a mountain hut.

Trekking

The Allgaeu and the surrounding areas have no end of marked routes that can be tackled by all ages and abilities.  These can be accessed by the use of lifts that normally bring skiers to the top or just stay down at a comparably low level and go from hut to hut or coffee to coffee!  The days can be as strenuous or as easy as you choose.

Mountain Biking

Immediately across the valley from the centre is area’s largest purpose built mountain biking area which is served by a gondola lift system.  There are also limitless number of marked trails for those who want experience a journey in the mountains.

Water Activities

Kayaking, white water rafting, outrigger river trips, canyoning and more are all on the doorstep.  The centre has an extensive list of kayaking areas both on the lake and up to grade 3 and 4 rivers and all within a short drive.  Whether you bring your own boats or want to hire the equipment and guides it’s all very easy and terrific value for money and can be tailored to all ages and abilities.

Local Amenities

There is so much to keep the whole family entertained including summer tobogganing, swimming adventure playgrounds, site seeing including the famous Chitty Chitty Bang Bang castle.  Best of all it is on the doorstep, and if you have to drive, the scenery is magnificent.
